Article 1 Purpose of Tie Breaking Procedures
The following procedures are used to break ties in the standings to determine which clubs qualify for the post-season, playoff site priorities, seeding, and draft order if the teams have the same overall record at season's end.

Article 2 Tie Breaking Procedures
  a) Two Clubs
At the end of the regular season, if a tie exists between two clubs in the same division or conference, the following steps will be used to break the tie:
  Step 1: Record-Divisional, the club with the best record within the division
  Step 2: Record-Conference, the club with the best record within the conference
  Step 3: Record-Head-to-Head, the club with the best record within the conference
  Step 4: Net Points-Head-to-Head, best net points in games between clubs
  Step 5: Net Points-Division, best net points in games within the division
  Step 6: Net Points-Conference, best net points in games within the conference
  Step 7: Net Points-All Games, best net points in all games played
  Step 8: Coin Flip
 
  b) Three or More Clubs
  Note: if two clubs remain tied after the third or other clubs have been eliminated during any step, revert back to step 1 of the two club format.
  Step 1: Record-Divisional, the club with the best record in games among all tied clubs
  Step 2: Record-Divisional, the club with the best record within the division among all tied clubs
  Step 3: Record-Conference, the club with the best record within the conference among all tied clubs
  Step 4: Net Points-Head-to-Head, best net points in games among all tied clubs
  Step 5: Net Points-Division, best net points in games within the division among all tied clubs
  Step 6: Net Points-Conference, best net points in games within the conference among all tied clubs
  Step 7: Net Points-All Games, best net points in all games played among all tied clubs
  Step 8: Card Draw

Article 3 Other Tie Breaking Notes
  • Only one club advances in any tie breaking step. Remaining tied clubs revert to the first step of the applicable tie breaking procedure. If two clubs remain tied in any tie breaking step after all other clubs have been eliminated, the procedure reverts to step 1 of the two club format to determine the winner. After one club wins the tie breaker, all other clubs revert to step 1 of the applicable two or three club format.
     
  • To determine site priority among Division Champions, apply the two club tie breaker.
